Spring is here so it’s time to make some fruity desserts! These Creamy Lemon Bars have a delicious crust that’s filled with a delicious lemon filling. They firm up well, are not too tart, and cut into beautiful bars. These were the perfect dessert for our Easter dinner, and will be made a lot more during the warmer months.
Creamy Lemon Bars
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1 can 14 oz. NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 4 large eggs
- 2/3 cup lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 drops yellow food coloring optional
- 2 tablespoon grated lemon peel
- Sifted powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350° F.

- Combine flour and powdered sugar in medium bowl.
- Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
- Press lightly onto bottom and halfway up sides of ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until an inserted tooth pick comes out clean.
filling
- Beat sweetened condensed milk and eggs in large mixer bowl until fluffy.
- Beat in lemon juice, flour, baking powder, salt and food coloring just until blended.
- Fold in grated lemon peel; pour over crust.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until filling is set and crust is golden brown.
- Cool in pan on wire rack.
- Refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar, cut into bars and enjoy!
