I have a lot of recipes for my slow cooker, but not a cookbook…until now! Gooseberry Patch has dedicated an entire cookbook (with more than 225 recipes) to slow cooking. I love how they divided the contents into seasons too! You have Warming Winter Dishes, Simply Speedy Springtime, Slow & Easy Summer, and Hearty Harvest Favorites. They also offer time saving tips for every season that will inspire you all year around. I got straight to work reviewing the recipes. They’re easy, they use every day ingredients and the directions are simple! Today I’m going to feature the Chocolate Pudding Cake and another recipe at the end of the week.
Ingredients are as follows:
frozen whipped topping, whipped cream, or ice cream
Pour into the slow cooker.
Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
Carefully pour batter into the slow cooker; do not stir!
Place a paper towel on top of the pot to absorb the excess moisture, secure the lid and cook on high…
for 2 1/2 hours…I love the digital features!
The cake is done and you can see some pudding!
Spoon some cake out, garnish, pour a little bit of pudding on top and enjoy!
As you can see this is just one of the fabulous recipes in Slow Cooking All Year Round. There are so many more and I’d love for you to win the cookbook plus this fancy slow cooker. All you have to do is leave a comment telling me what your favorite slow cooker recipe is 🙂 Please note: since there are so many comments only a certain number are shown. You will see a “load more…” underneath the comment box; click here to see your comment displayed.

Please note that I was provided with a Gooseberry Patch cookbook to review, however opinions stated are my own. I was also provided with a Hamilton Beach Slow cooker to review and the opinions expressed are solely my own.
You put the paper towel on top of the cake?
Yes you do, it’ll catch all the moisture so it doesn’t go onto the cake.
Cake in a slow-cooker awesome! Thanks for sharing at Foodie Friends Friday!
I really wish I saw this recipe earlier! I just put together in my crock pot a different one not using a cake mix and I hope it comes as good as your recipe! Thank you for joining Foodie Friends Friday! Please come back next week with another great recipe!
