Chocolate and Vanilla swirled into one delicious Pound Cake!

Pound Cake is a simple and delicious cake that goes with everything!  Cream Cheese Pound Cake is a family favorite, however this Marble Swirl Pound Cake is catching up.  The vanilla pound cake swirled with a hint of chocolate is a great flavor combination.  To top it off, I made a simple glaze that complimented it perfectly.  This is a great pound cake to have with morning coffee, afternoon tea, or even dessert!  This would also make a great base in a trifle dessert.  Once you try this Marble Swirl Pound Cake, you’ll enjoy it any time of the day!

Ingredients
  1. 3 C flour
  2. 2 tsp. baking powder
  3. 1/4 tsp. salt
  4. 2 C sugar
  5. 1 C butter, softened
  6. 1 C milk
  7. 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  8. 4 eggs
  9. 1/4 C cocoa powder
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a 10" bundt pan.
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt together; set aside.
  3. Cream the sugar and butter together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, add vanilla.
  5. Then add the 1/3 of the premixed dry ingredients to the batter, fold in gently.
  6. Mix in 1/2 of the milk.
  7. Add another 1/3 of the dry mix and stir.
  8. Mix in the other half of milk.
  9. Add remaining 1/3 of dry mix and stir.
  10. Pour about 2 cups of the batter into another bowl and mix in the cocoa powder.
  11. Pour 1/2 of the vanilla batter into the bundt pan.
  12. Pour 1/2 of the chocolate batter into the bundt pan.
  13. Repeat with the remaining vanilla batter, then the chocolate batter.
  14. Take a knife and swirl the batters around.
  15. Bake for 50-60 minutes; until a toothpick in the center comes out clean.
  16. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan, then cool completely.
  17. Slice, serve and enjoy!
Notes
  1. For the glaze, I just mixed powdered sugar and cream together.
