Bacon and Date Cinnabon Strata
My family loves Cinnabon, unfortunately the closest location is about two hours away so I haven’t had them in a very long time.  I did look up where we are going on vacation and I am so excited because they have a Cinnabon down there which we will definitely be visiting.  In the meantime, I love that I can buy the canned rolls at the store so I can still enjoy the flavors whenever I want.  Cinnabon came up with some delicious recipes using the canned rolls and I thought I’d share them with you over the next couple of days…enjoy!

Ingredients are as follows:

1 can Pillsbury™ Grands!™ Flaky Supreme refrigerated
Cinnabon cinnamon rolls with icing (5 rolls)

1/2 lb thick-sliced bacon, cut into 1/2-inch slices

3/4 cup chopped dates

3 oz cream cheese, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

3 cups milk

4 eggs

1/2 teaspoon Watkins™ Pure Almond Extract
Directions
  1. Heat
    oven to 350°F.
  2. Bake cinnamon rolls as directed on can; reserve icing.
Remove from pan to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 20 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile,
in 10-inch skillet, cook bacon over medium-high heat, stirring
occasionally, until crisp; drain on paper towels. Brush about 1 teaspoon
    bacon drippings
over bottom and side of 11×7-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish.
  4. Cut
cinnamon rolls into 1-inch cubes. Place half of the cinnamon roll cubes
    in baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle with half of the dates and half of the bacon.
    Top evenly
with cream cheese cubes. Repeat with remaining cinnamon roll cubes,
    dates and bacon.
  6. In
large bowl, beat milk, eggs, almond extract and reserved icing with
whisk until well blended. Pour over cinnamon roll mixture. Lightly press
    cinnamon roll
cubes into egg mixture to moisten. Let stand 20 minutes.
  7. Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until center still jiggles slightly when moved and top is golden brown. Cool 10 minutes. Serve warm.
