Breakfast on the weekends is a big deal at our house. I love getting up and making a nice breakfast for all of us to enjoy, or to have for brunch. Either way, we all get to sit down, enjoy delicious food and great conversation. If you don’t have the prosciutto or fontina cheese, you can substitute with something else you have or prefer. This Prosciutto Frittata is simple to prepare, it bakes up beautifully while you’re preparing the rest of the meal, and it tastes delicious too. No matter how you make it, it’s a great dish for the family to enjoy!
Ingredients are as follows:
1 dozen large eggs
one pint light cream
1 1/3 cups shredded fontina cheese
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
1/2 tsp. black ground pepper
7 thin slices prosciutto, chopped
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Spray a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the eggs, cream, cheese, parsley, and
black pepper; pour into the baking dish. - Submerge half of the
prosciutto into the egg mixture and place half of the pieces on top
evenly. - Bake for 20-30 minutes until a tooth pick inserted in the center comes out wet, but no runny egg on it.
That is just link sausage beside the frittata; it's found in the meat department (where the hotdogs are sold).
Thanks for the sweet comment!
Love your recipes! What kind of sausage is that and where do you get it?
