During the summer months, no-bake desserts are a favorite of ours! Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge, Strawberry Cream Cheese Icebox Cake, Candy Bar Pie, and Snickers Bark are just some of the ones we love, and Dirt Dessert is on the list as well. This is one of our go-to desserts to take to picnics and my son requests this as his birthday “cake” every year too. This recipe isn’t really sweet being that I don’t add any extra sugar, and I like to incorporate sugar-free ingredients as much as I can. It’s simple to prepare and you can make it ahead of time too!
Ingredients are as follows:
2 (3.4 oz. box) instant vanilla pudding (I use sugar-free)
2 1/2 C milk
1 (14.3 oz. package) Oreo cookies
1/4 C butter, softened
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
12 oz. cool whip (I use sugar-free)
Directions:
Whisk together the pudding and milk until combined; set aside to thicken.
Crush the cookies until they are crumbly; set aside.
Cream the butter and cream cheese until fluffy.
Mix in the cool whip until combined.
Fold in the pudding mixture; set aside.
In a 9 x 13″ pan, sprinkle 1/3 of the cookie crumbs onto the bottom.
Take half of the pudding mixture and place dollops onto the crumbs.
Carefully spread this out. This can be a little tricky so go slowly.
Sprinkle on another 1/3 of the crumbs.
Carefully spread on the second half of the pudding mixture.
Sprinkle on the remaining crumbs.
Cover and place in the fridge for at least an hour. You can garnish this with gummy worms, flowers, trucks, or anything that involves dirt. Serve and enjoy!
Yuummmmm! I'd love a big bowl full of this tasty treat!
