Savory cream cheese topped with a sweet fig preserve that’s all wrapped up in a flaky dough!
Normally I share a lot of sweets on here, but today I’m sharing a savory tart that has just a hint of sweetness. I love the combination of figs and cheese, and over the holidays I made a puff pastry, cheese and fig appetizer which turned out delicious. The other day I was craving it, but I didn’t feel like making puff pastry so I looked in the fridge, saw crescent rolls and decided to make tarts using the same concept. This recipe only requires three ingredients and you can make it in a matter of minutes. It’s the perfect little bite to pop in your mouth and enjoy!
Ingredients are as follows:
1 (8 ounce) package crescent rolls
cream cheese
fig spread or preserves
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a mini muffin pan.
Open the crescent rolls (do not separate) and cut the roll into 12 pieces.
Take each piece and push them into the muffin pan.
Take a 1/2 Tbsp. of cream cheese and place in the center of each dough.
Place a teaspoon of fig spread on top of the cream cheese.
Bake for 12-14 minutes. Allow to cool for a few minutes; remove from pan.
Serve and enjoy!
