Ingredients are as follows:
topping:
6 Tbsp. butter, melted
3/4 C brown sugar
1/2 C chopped pecans (or walnuts)
filling:
1/2 C sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
6 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 package refrigerated pie crusts
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place a cookie sheet on the second rack to catch the drips if it bubbles over!
Line a 10″ pie plate with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.
Mix together the melted butter, brown sugar and pecans; spread into pan.
Place one of the crusts on top and press down into the pan; set aside.
Stir the sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and butter together; mix in the apples.
Evenly spread into the pie crust.
Place the other crust on top and crimp the edges so it’s sealed; cut a slit on top.
Bake for 60-75 minutes; until golden brown.
Invert pie onto a serving plate (my pie plate is glass so it’s hard to see!).
Carefully remove the pie plate and slowly peel off the foil.
Slice, serve and enjoy!

This is a winner thanks for sharing! I made one back in the 70s no recipe I made it up and entered it into a apple pie contest won 1st prize several people were upset because they thought because it was not in a pie plate it should not be called a pie. Thought you would like to know that you have a prize winning recipe!
