I’m not really into frying our food so I’m always looking for ways to take fried food and bake them so they’ll taste just as good. The kids love Churros, but I didn’t know how they would taste baked, but I gave it a try anyways. These turned out delicious! Of course they don’t have the exact same crispiness like the fried ones, however they have less grease and they taste every bit as good. They’re a little crispy on the outside and a little chewy on the inside! In fact, they were so good that I can’t really say how many this recipe makes because the kids were eating them as fast as I took them out of the cinnamon sugar mixture!
Ingredients are as follows:1 C water
1/2 C margarine
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 C flour
3 eggs
Ingredients are as follows:1 C water
1/2 C margarine
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 C flour
3 eggs
cinnamon & sugar to coat
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease cookie sheets.
Place water, margarine, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla into a pot.
Bring up to a boil, remove from heat and add the flour.
Stir until a dough forms.
Add eggs in one at a time and mix until combined (this is after one egg).
Keep mixing until a thick paste forms (this is after three eggs).
Spoon dough into a pasty bag and pipe 6″ strips onto the cookie sheet.
Bake for 18-20 minutes; until golden brown around the edges.
Immediately remove from pan then toss into cinnamon sugar mixture.
Take a bite and enjoy!
Great ! This is definitely a recipe for me!
I hate to fry as I usually make a mess (I love to eat fried food but not to make it)
Thanks so much for sharing this 🙂
thanks for sharing. i was wondering how they are cold??? I was thinking of takin them to a meeting. and would be making them the day before.
thanks
They are best when they are eaten warm. My kids had ours gone within the day, which they did eat them cold too, however I can't say about the following day.

Awesome recipe! I love that you baked them and not fired them!!
I love churros but they can be greasy and fatty, this sounds like a great compromise!
