The holidays are among us and that means it’s time for baking! I make a large variety of goodies throughout the season, however I do like to take into consideration our family and friends who can’t have a lot of sugar. This Low-Sugar Apple Pie looks and tastes every bit as good as an original apple pie, but with less sugar and calories. Make sure this is on your baking list for everyone to enjoy!
- 10 packets SweetLeaf® Stevia Sweetener
- Pastry dough for 9-inch, 2-crust pie
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 3 to 4 large, firm, tart apples
- 1 cup apple cider
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 egg, beaten for brushing pie
1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.

and dot with butter.
8. Roll out the top crust and drape it over the pie, or lattice weave
strips of dough over the top.
9. Brush the latticed dough with egg and dust
with cinnamon. Crimp the edges and cut several vents in the top.
10 minutes, then lower the heat to 350 degrees F.

more, or until the apples are tender when pierced with a skewer and the
crust is browned.
