Sharing Food

Have you always wanted to host a dinner party with all of your friends? Now’s the time to take the leap and plan one! However, it’s not an easy feat. You’ll need to plan in advance if you want it to be a success.   If you’re unsure as to where to start, here are some top tips that you can use to plan the ultimate dinner party that they will never forget:

Set a Budget

The first thing you should do is think about how much you want to spend on your dinner party. Take into consideration all of the food you need to buy, the drink, any decorations that you’re going to purchase, any additional entertainment, etc.

The price will, of course, depend on how extravagant you want it to be and how many guests you are catering for – so once you have the final numbers of who can come it’s a good idea to cost up the expense of it.

Choose a Theme

Now comes the exciting part – choosing a theme for your evening! Often, people love to choose a unique theme for their evening, whether it be an Italian-themed dinner party, a Mexican-themed event or even a murder mystery evening.   The theme that you choose will depend on the type of food that you want to serve and what you think that your guests will enjoy. Pivotal to the evening, it’s a good idea to decide on this early so that you’re fully organized for what lies ahead.

Create an Extraordinary Menu

Next, it’s time to create an incredible menu that matches your theme! This can include anything from traditional bruschetta to tacos, chicken in sweet and sour sauce or a delicious cherry pie (if you’re hosting an Independence Day dinner party for example).

After creating the menu, consider sending it out to your guests to ensure that they like everything on it. You can then get any allergy information from them and settle on a final menu.

Decorate!

If you really want to push the boat out for your dinner party, consider purchasing themed decorations for it! The decorations you buy will, of course, depend on your theme. But it will create a fabulous atmosphere that transports your guests wholly into the theme.

Alongside decorations, consider creating bespoke invitations that will inform them about the theme, the dress code, the date and other key details. This way, they will remember to keep the date free!

Plan After Dinner Entertainment

Once the meal part of your evening has come to an end, you might want to organize post-dinner entertainment for your guests to enjoy. This can be anything from themed games to a professional entertainer coming to perform (if you have the budget for this!).   This will help to keep the party going long after the meal is finished. It also shows your guests that you’ve gone all-in on the theme and ensuring they have an unforgettable night.
