Creamy peanut butter fudge is something I crave all the time! I love the different flavors of fudge, how it melts in your mouth, and that a little piece goes a long way. When I started making fudge, I made it the old fashioned way which took some time. Now that I’ve been cooking for quite a few years, I’ve found a way to make it in the microwave! That means I can whip up a batch of fudge any time I want. Plus this recipe doesn’t require any marshmallows or fluff so you most likely have everything you need in your pantry. Once you sink your teeth into this, you’ll see and taste how creamy and scrumptious it is...enjoy!
Ingredients are as follows:
1 C butter (no substitutes)
1 C creamy peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 C powdered sugar
Directions:
Grease an 8 x 8 inch pan.
Place the butter into a bowl and melt in the microwave.
Stir in the peanut butter and vanilla.
Slowly mix in the powdered sugar; stir until combined.
Place back in the microwave and heat for 1 minute on high.
Stir again and then pour into prepared pan.
Place in the fridge until it sets up. Slice, serve and enjoy!

I made this today, and it turned out perfect, and tastes delicious…Thank you π
I’m happy you like it, thanks for the sweet comment π
This was quick and easy to make. I’m not a peanut butter person, but my family loves it. I just made this for Christmas and everyone loved it! It was gone. Thank you Rachel from Explore Kid Talk
Thank you Rachel for the sweet comment and taking the time to leave it. I’m happy to hear your family enjoyed it π
I stirred in the sugar as butter in first by accident, is there anything I can do to fix it? Itβs runny right now and i can feel/see the sugar.
the sugar and butter*. my bad
I’m so sorry, I just saw this…hopefully you continued on with the recipe and it worked.
So what if it never hardens.
If it’s not grainy then it means the temperature was not brought up correctly, maybe your microwave isn’t as powerful as the one I used. However, just reheat it in increments of 30 seconds, stirring after each, until you reach a temperature of 235 degrees and then pour back into the pan and allow to cool.
My fudge has been in the fridge for about 2 hours, not 100% set yet. Still too runny. What do you suggest?
You can’t use all natural peanut butter so hopefully that’s not the case, but If itβs not grainy then it means the temperature was not brought up correctly, maybe your microwave isnβt as powerful as the one I used. However, just reheat it in increments of 30 seconds, stirring after each, until you reach a temperature of 235 degrees and then pour back into the pan and allow to cool. You can also add in more powdered sugar, but it’ll take the sweetness level up too.
I love that this recipe is so easy. The only other microwave recipe that I’ve seen like this was a peanut brittle one so I’m excited to add another one to my personal recipe book!
I’m going to share it on the DailyMomBlogs facebook page on December 15th.
I know that this would be something other moms could make easily.
Thank you Patty, it is greatly appreciated!
Can I make this chocolate peanut butter
You sure can! Just add in the desired amount of cocoa powder and whisk it in with the peanut butter and melted butter.
Do you know how big a small serving would be and how many carbs would be in it?
I sorry I don’t because you cut it into whatever size you prefer, however the pan is 9 x 9″. For the nutritional information you can decide how many pieces you’d cut it into and then enter it into an online calculator. I hope that helps π
Thank you!
Is powdered sugar what we call icing sugar in UK?
Yes it is.
how long does the fudge have to set in the fridge for exactly?
It sets up in about 15-20 minutes.
Is there a way to make this recipe without butter? (Or any fudge recipe) I have developed a milk allergy and really miss fudge!
You cannot use margarine in this recipe because it won’t set up. However, I did type in “Fudge Recipe Milk Allergy” into Google and all kinds of recipes came up. I hope that helps π
On batch three of eight for Christmas gifts this year.
Oh that’s wonderful Samantha…I hope they enjoy it π
Would stick margarine work. It’s emperial
No, it won’t set up properly unless it’s real butter.
What power microwave do you use? Iβm in UK.
Mine is a 1.2 KW
Does it have to be real butter??? Is blue bonnet ok???
Yes it does; blue bonnet is margarine not butter.
Blessed holidays, love quicky receipes! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Ruthie, Happy Holidays!

Can I use icing sugar in place of powdered sugar ?
yep, icing sugar and powdered sugar are the same! Enjoy!!
Just put mine in the fridge, can not wait to try it tomorrow!!!! π
I hope you enjoy it π
Can I cut the recipe in half? Looks delish.
You can, but you’ll have to use a smaller pan for a thicker fudge.
Mine didn’t set up completely it was very good πππ I’m not quite sure what I did wrong lol Anyone have any ideas?
You can’t use all natural peanut butter, and you have to stir it in between the cooking times…hope that helps π
Did you figure it out? I want to make this but butter is too expensive to waste if it doesn’t come out right.
Bea, You’re right butter is expensive and 2 sticks is a lot of butter for fudge not to mention the amount of oil already in peanut butter. I have an easy microwave recipe that always sets up perfectly every time. (Microwave Peanut Butter Fudge) – Empty a one pound box of powdered sugar into a microwave safe bowl. (if you have a large bag of powdered sugar that would be 3 & 3/4 cups of unsifted powdered sugar) Make a well in the center with a spoon and place in 2 tablespoons of cold butter/margarine and 1/3 cup milk. Do not mix together. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Remove from microwave and (I use a wire whisk) mix together. Place bowl back in microwave heat for 30 seconds more. Remove and add in 1 cup peanut butter (I use Jiff creamy) and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Beat together well till blended evenly and pour into already prepared, buttered or cooking sprayed, 8×8 square baking dish. I loosely lay a sheet of waxed paper over the top and place in refrigerator for a couple hours till set. Comes out perfect every single time.
Thanks Trish π
Love this! Simple and easy!
Thank you Linda!
Trish, thanks for all the inf, very helpful. On my way to the kitchen right now to try this. Will let you know my results.
Enjoy!
I made peanut butter fudge last year and it was soooo good. This sounds even easier than the one I made. Guess I better try this one this year.
