Double-the-Fun Fudge

It’s time once again to review a new cookbook from Gooseberry Patch and this one is a treat!  The cookbooks from Gooseberry Patch are filled with delicious recipes from people all over the world, however this one has some cattitude and it’s filled with Garfield’s favorite dishes.  We have Breakfast is served…Time to get up!; First lunch, then a catnap; Snack Attack; Lotsa Lasagna, Pasta & Pizza; It’s time for dinner…Now!!! and Dinner is over…What’s for dessert?  This cookbook has over 230 recipes, a few comic strips and lots of tips & tricks…all with Garfield’s Cattitude! I couldn’t wait to start cooking, I’ve made several dishes and they all turned out wonderful.  The recipe I featured today is the perfect treat for a hot summer day!If you’d like to win a copy of Garfield…Recipes with Cattitude make sure you leave a comment below!

Ingredients are as follows:
1 C peanut butter chips
1 C semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 1/4 C sugar
5 oz. can evaporated milk
1/4 c butter
7 oz. jar marshmallow creme
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Line an 8 x 8″ pan with aluminum foil, extending foil over the edges of pan.

Place peanut butter chips and chocolate chips in separate bowls; set aside.

In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, milk, butter and marshmallow creme.
Stirring constantly, bring to a rolling boil.  Boil and stir for five minutes.  Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
Pour half of the mixture onto the peanut butter chips.
Stir until combined.
Pour into prepared pan  (I didn’t put foil in my pan, however I recommend it!).
Pour remaining mixture onto the chocolate chips and stir until combined.
Pour onto the peanut butter layer.  Cover and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
Slice, serve and enjoy!
