Ingredients are as follows:
1 (9 inch) pie crust
1/2 C pecan halves (I crushed mine up because of the kids)
3 eggs
1 C dark corn syrup
1 C sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees; grease a 9″ pie pan.
Place unbaked crust into pie plate and arrange pecans in crust; set aside.
In a bowl, beat eggs well.
Mix in the corn syrup, sugar, vanilla and salt.
Pour mixture over pecans in crust.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes; reduce temperature to 325 degrees. Bake an additional 30 minutes or until center of the pie is set (mine took about 55 minutes).
Cool completely then slice, serve and enjoy!

favorite thing is to make sausage balls for the family….that is
always the first thing they request….and the spicier the better for
them. 🙂

My favorite tradition is making cookies with my sister – in – law along With a batch of homemade amateur cream!.
Alas, what family of mine that is not dead is far flung. I have had to create new traditions, oxymoron and all. I spend some time helping cook for a homeless charity I put one dollar bills in small envelopes with messages such as "Breathe" "Relax" or "You are good enough" and pass them out randomly to strangers. I have taken to cooking old, old recipes from my childhood. I live outside of Orlando so I go to a theme park and renew the magic. I let go of attachments to all things, people, beliefs, feelings, and attitudes and just spend some time BEING. Breathe y'all. It is good for you!

My favorite Christmas tradition is leaving the milk and cookies out for Santa with the kids. It has been hard trying to find some good traditions from my family and my husband's that we can make our own for our family.
