I love making brunch on the weekends, and sometimes I like to make something sweet for the end of the meal. After cooking all the other food, I really don’t want to fuss with something that will take a long time and being that I love danishes this is the perfect recipe! You can fill the danishes with just cream cheese, or add cherries, apples, chocolate…anything you’d like. Strawberry and Cheese is our favorite, but a close second is cheese with chocolate drizzled on top. These are simple to make and quite delicious to enjoy!
Ingredients are as follows:
1 (8 ounce) can crescent rolls
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 C powdered sugar
8 tsp. strawberry preserves
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a large cookie sheet.
Unwrap the can of crescent rolls; do not separate.
Evenly slice into 8 pieces.
Place onto cookie sheet; take a cup and flatten while leaving an edge. Set aside.
Mix the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until creamy.
Place a dollop of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each piece of dough. Take a teaspoon of preserves and place on top.
Bake for 16-20 minutes; until golden brown.
Allow to cool a few minutes; Serve and enjoy!
Simple to make and perfect for Sunday morning tea and the newspaper. Yes I still read a newspaper in paper form.
Wishes for tasty dishes,
