Baked Brie & Fig Spread; flourmewithlove.com

The holidays are among us and that means a lot of entertaining going on; the perfect time to be with family and friends.  I love to entertain and prepare lots of different dishes and bake tons of desserts.  This year I got to try the new Orchard Choice California Fig Spreads.  I must say, these are quite unique!  The fig flavor is delicious, they’re not too sweet and they go well with anything.  I was actually eating mine straight out of the jar!  They are made with California figs, and they come in four different flavors.

  • California Orange – Summer’s best figs laced with a tangy twist of
orange create a fruit spread ripe for pairing with cheeses, topping
    toasts, and brightening desserts.
  • Organic Mission Fig – Sweet, earthy and bursting with fig flavor,
our simple blend of summer’s best organic Mission figs pairs well with
cheese, perks up yogurt, and tops toast in style.

  • Balsamic Pepper – It’s love at first bite when sweet figs join sassy balsamic vinegar and spicy black pepper.  Brighten up cheese trays, garnish grilled meats…the possibilities are endless!
  • Port Wine – Imagine sweet, luscious, figs drenched in port and you have the makings of our elegant fruit spread.  From appetizers to desserts, enjoy the possibilities.

I tried these with cheese, on a sandwich, on crackers…actually a lot of things, however the one that stood out the most is the Baked Brie.  I couldn’t decide which spread to put on top so I actually put all four!  The spreads didn’t spread together, but they all paired perfectly with the warm brie.

 Ingredients are as follows:

1 8 ounce round of brie
1  8 ounce package of refrigerated crescent rolls
1 Tbsp. of each fig spread

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a cookie sheet.

Unroll the crescent rolls and press all the triangles, but two into a rectangle.
