I live out in the country where there aren’t any grocery stores. If I forget something when I go shopping I usually wait until next weeks shopping trip because it’s not worth making a special drive up to get it. Finally that has changed; recently a Dollar General was built about a mile away. Now if I forget something all I have to do is make a quick drive up there, get whatever I need and I’m good to go! The other day I ran up and was surprised at all the holiday stuff they offer at a fraction of the cost of the grocery stores. I needed to make a dessert for a holiday party and one of our favorites are Peanut Butter Truffles. I love to make these because they only use a few ingredients and you can whip them up in a very short time.
Ingredients are as follows:
1 (16 ounce) package Nutter Butter Cookies
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 Tbsp. peanut butter
2 Tbsp. milk
2 (9 oz.) bags chocolate almond bark wafers
sprinkles or decorations for the tops of the truffles
Directions:
Crush (or grind) up the entire bag of Nutter Butter Cookies.
Mix in the cream cheese, peanut butter and milk until completely combined.
Roll the dough into one inch balls; I ended up with 32.
Place the chocolate wafers in a microwave safe bowl.
Heat for 15 seconds, take them out; stir and repeat until the chocolate is melted.
Dip them into the melted chocolate and immediately sprinkle on your decorations.
Serve and enjoy!
Newyears.

I also live out in the country and it can be a real hassle when you forget something from the store:) They recently built a Dollar Tree and an Aldi about a 30 minute drive from me and I'm lovin it~ Your truffles look delicious~ Lynn @ Turnips 2 Tangerines
I am only 20 minutes from the grocery store and it can be so frustrating if I forget something. I love your blog and these Truffles look so delicious. My family loves peanut butter, nutter butters, and chocolate. I will have to try these truffles.
