Easy Basic Scones
Ingredients

all-purpose flour
1/2
cup
white sugar

teaspoons
baking powder

baking soda
1
tsp.
cream of tartar
1/2
teaspoon
salt
3/4
cup
cold butter
cubed
1
egg
1
cup
half-n-half

Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F; grease a baking sheet.
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
Cut in butter until crumbly.
In a small bowl, whisk the egg and half-n-half together.
Stir into flour mixture until moistened and the dough comes together.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead briefly.
Roll dough out to about 1/2 inch thick.
Cut into 8 wedges, and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
You may not need all of the liquid mixture for the dough to come together.
