Every once in awhile I like to do something different and today is one of those days! A lot of you have asked what a dinner for our family is like. You may or may not know, but we have four kids that are involved in sports, practices, clubs, and other extra curricular activities. Plus I run two sites that keep me quite busy when I’m not doing laundry, bills, grocery shopping, playing taxi cab, menu planning and homework helper! Even though it’s busy we try to sit down for dinner as many nights as possible because that’s family time well spent together.
On nights that are extremely busy I make one of our favorite meals and it just so happens to be one of the easiest meals to prepare. I start out with Barilla® Pronto™ since it’s prepared in one pan so there’s no need to wait for the water to boil, and no need to drain it either. You just toss the pasta in the pan, add some water, cook and then add in your favorite sauce and seasonings. Not having to prior cook the pasta in a large pot of water is a big time saver and I love that you can choose from five different shapes at Kroger; elbows, rotini, penne, linguini, and spaghetti. Let me show you our favorite go-to recipe:

Ingredients are as follows:
1 (12 0unce) box of Barilla® Pronto™ Penne
3 C chicken stock or water
2 Tbsp. butter
1 shallot, diced
1/2 C real bacon bits
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
1 (16 ounce) jar of Alfredo sauce
Parsley
Directions:
Get a large skillet and add in the Barilla® Pronto™ Penne.
Add the chicken stock or water and make sure all the noodles are covered.
Boil for ten minutes; the water will absorb into the pasta.
Remove pasta from the pan; add in the butter, shallot, chicken and bacon bits and cook until the chicken has an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
Add the cooked pasta back into the pan and add the jar of Alfredo Sauce; stir until combined.
Sprinkle on some parsley if you like; serve and enjoy!
So there you have it…a delicious meal in a matter of minutes! Please leave a comment telling me what your favorite go-to meal is, I’d love to get some more ideas.
