Cinnamon-Scented Ornaments

I wrote this post as part of a paid campaign with Dollar Tree and Blueprint Social.

The opinions in this post are my own.

The holidays are among us and that means a lot of gift giving!  I love making homemade gifts that are special and come from the heart.  A place I look for ideas is the The Value Seekers Club.  I know the projects won’t cost a lot since all Dollar Tree products are $1 each.  The Value Seekers Club is a club full of crafts, recipes, décor and frugal fun ideas that can all be created with Dollar Tree products.  I love how they’re simple to make and the kids can also join in on the fun!  One craft that we enjoy making is cinnamon-scented ornaments.  Not only are they adorable, but they smell delicious too.  They’re the perfect addition to your holiday tree or even tied onto your packages.

You only need a few supplies such as cinnamon, applesauce, waxed paper, cookie cutters, ribbon, beads and if you like some paint.

The process is quite simple…all you do is mix the applesauce and cinnamon together to make the dough, roll it out, cut into shapes and bake.  For full directions and recipe please visit The Value Seekers Club and check out their idea for “Cinnamon Scented Star Potpourri.”

We decided to make ours into ornaments, and create shapes other than stars.  We also used all kinds of beads instead of paint and they turned out quite pretty!

All we did was glue them on and add some decorative string!

I’m sure you’d like to try a project from The Value Seekers Club so I am giving away a $50 Dollar Tree Gift Card!  All you have to do is visit the club’s website then come back and leave a comment telling me which project you’d like to make…I know it will be hard to decide 😉
