I’m not a breakfast type person, however there are times that I like something little on my stomach, but it can’t be too sweet!  These cream cheese, cinnamon and sugar pinwheels worked out perfectly.  The dough requires no yeast so it’s simple to make and can be assembled in very little time.  It also has cream cheese in it which makes it moist.  I sprinkled on some cinnamon and drizzled on a little bit of cream cheese icing (because I love it) and I must say they were perfect with a cup of tea!

Ingredients are as follows:
2 C flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 C sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3 ounces cream cheese, cold & cut into pieces
4 Tbsp. butter, cold & cut into pieces
1/2 C milk
1 tsp. vanilla
cinnamon
icing:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 C powdered sugar
3-4 Tbsp. heavy whipping cream
Directions:
Please note:  I made 6 large ones shown here, however the next time I made 12 smaller ones and I think those are a little easier to eat because you can just pop them into your mouth!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a cookie sheet and set aside.
Mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt.  Add the cream cheese and butter.
Mix until crumbly.
Add the milk and vanilla; mix until the dough comes together.
Place on a floured surface and knead for a few minutes.
Roll dough into a log and then cut into 8 pieces.
Take one of those pieces and cut in half; roll each of those into six inch pieces.
Twirl the two pieces together.
Roll those into a pinwheel.
Place onto the greased cookie sheet.
Sprinkle on desired amount of cinnamon.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, until golden brown around the edges.  Allow to cool.
Mix together the cream cheese, powdered sugar and heavy whipping cream.
Drizzle onto the pinwheels.
Take a bite and enjoy!
